About Me

I am a fully certified specialist dyslexia tutor. As an experienced educator of more than 20 years experience, I started this journey as a result of teaching very intelligent students with specific learning difficulties who were not achieving their full potential.

My education career

I taught in further education for 17 years after completing a PGCE Further and have qualified teacher learning status. I gained my MSc and BSc in Biological sciences at Bath University. I have a fully enhanced DBS. I am a member of the Society of Education and Training which is the leading teaching association for lecturers. I completed the postgraduate diploma Teaching learners with Dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties and barriers to Literacy this year which gives me Specialist SpLD tutor status. I have been a private tutor since 2019.

What I offer

I offer high quality face to face learning with monthly reviews and feedback with set goals to improve a student’s learning within the comfort of the student's home.

As a specialist in biology I can also offer GCSE and A level Biology tuition with a focus on SEN teaching.

I specialise teaching students from year 6 onwards. There are options for online tutoring and a free twenty minute consultation.

Other Specific Learning Difficulties

In addition to teaching students with dyslexia, I am qualified to teach students with autism as I have been a mentor to University students with autism and a SEN teaching assistant.
